Biography
On September 8th, 2008 David was sworn in as the Minister for Housing and the Minister for Western Sydney.
David lived in public housing as a child and also has experience working for Hope Hostel, a shelter for homeless men in Parramatta.
He understands the emotion and challenges people face in the Housing sector - whether they are staff working in the industry, families who live in an estate or people in desperate need of shelter.
He has real experience in dealing with people suffering from disadvantage, mental health issues or homelessness and is committed to delivering on the Rees government’s commitment to reducing homelessness.
David is a passionate advocate for Western Sydney and believes there is much to do to stem the talent drain of young creative people from Western Sydney to the bright lights and urban villages of Sydney.
On the 14 September 2009, David was honored to also be sworn in as the Minister Assisting the Minister for Transport.
He is looking forward to working with David Campbell to deliver an integrated public transport system for NSW
David lives in Western Sydney and has been married to Giselle for twelve years. They have two children Grace and Zoe.
